The work of Zdenek Rykr harkens back to Prague between the wars, a time of crosscurrents, experimentation and driving spirit. Rykr was one of the most important graphic designers, painters and designers of the period. His work is rarely exhibited but fortunately the curators of the city's most evocative Gothic gallery space have done their best to make up for that omission with a thorough look at its contexts and the way it shaped the look of a new democracy.

Jail House Rock
Posted by hayden hunter at 10:14 AM 0 comments
This two-hour rock and roll powerhouse is sure to have audiences jumping in the aisles. It features a sumptuous selection of the best-loved hits of the genre, belted out by quintet of hot singing talent. The blues boys, Jake and Elwood will also take to the stage, clad in their trademark Ray-Bans and pork pie hats. The jailhouse theme is carried throughout the theatre with grim prison décor and staff dressed the part. Prepare to be arrested by the police, served by prisoners and sentenced and paroled for good behaviour.
